It's Saturday night and I'm sat at my computer...about to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on said computer though so it's not all that sad. Or perhaps it is. Today I went looking for cars for Colin with him and Dad. Had fun playing with the sat-nav in his Jaguar, but it was very cramped in there and it made me feel ill... Coming up in the future are trips to London and Jersey, plus the possibility of some work (amazingly I'm actually up for it in a big way!) . The fitness thing is going reasonabl...
Today I sent out a letter to loads of local schools letting them know that I'm out here! Hopefully some work will come my way soon. Have to admit I'm quite looking forward to it now even though I am enjoying this very extended holiday! This morning I had a sebacious (sp?) cyst removed from my neck. It didn't hurt at all but I could feel the skin pulling when he did the stitches. Off to badminton tonight - Alex is coming along too which will be good. With a bit of luck I'll be much better at b...
What happens if you look at a weight and see half of it as imperial and half of it as metric? Simple, you underestimate your weight by a whole stone... It was always going to start on the 1st February (the exercise regime started 1st January) but now...oh my oh my... Apart from that...the Fridge is now on eBay (see the link below) and in the first 4 hours reached £50! Only hope it hasn't peaked too soon. Good news work wise is that I am now officially cleared to work as a teacher in Warwic...
It's 4pm on Saturday afternoon and I'm sat typing this. I've been sat at this computer or reading or sleeping for the past 36 hours. The exception was yesterday evening when I went to Dad's house with Mum. Exciting... I received confirmation that all my checks have been completed. I am no longer an axe-murderer in the eys of the state and I can teach in England again! So now I have to wait for the supply register to come out (not sure when that's going to be - had better 'phone them!) and mails...
So, the great freeze is here...Nan still has all the windows open. Mum loves her new car. At badminton last night I was OK, Good, Pisspoor. In that order. Off to the gym in an hour. I might be off to Aberystwyth on Friday but the weather might win. It's a long enough journey as it is without having to go slowly because of the ice. Don't like the weather getting the better of me but...we'll see - I'm monitoring the situation. I have to say something about that git...does anyone really have any f...
Update...went up to see Mark & lou at the weekend. Did a very nice (if animal excrement covered) walk along the coast on Saturday and had a wander around York on Sunday. As ever, a very pleasant weekend in and around Thirsk. Mum has a new car - a Vauxhall Calibra. We're picking it up today. Dad's car was picked up yesterday...the heated seat has moved on, apparently to be fitted with a Cosworth Turbo engine! Gave blood yesterday...Ok so long as they don't show me the needle, and snooker tonig...
...he gets what's coming to him today! Fingers crossed...
There might not be...I feel... I can't put it into words actually but I'm looking forward to this weekend away.
...there used to be a place where I could put down what I was listening to...now there isn't. This is it then : I took my love, I took it down Climbed a mountain and I turned around I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills 'Till the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky What is love Can the child within my heart rise above Can I sail through the changing ocean tides Can I handle the seasons of my life Well, I've been afraid of changing 'Cause I've built my life a...
Little did I know when I posted an entry on small children that I would receive 'hate mail'. Well, comments having a mild go at me anyway. The general feeling was that I was out of order. That I shouldn't be so horrible about children. They're lovely and if they become too much of a focus either it's the parents' fault, or my fault for feeling insecure at not being the centre of attention. Not the child though. I am a teacher. Of children. Crucially though the children I teach (and enjoy workin...
This evening I lost them all...still have them before that date, but that's the thing about e-mails isn't it - they've replaced letters but they so much more easily lost or destroyed. Shame. Anyway, if you've written to me recently and I forget to write back - that's why. Sorry in advance.
I have now been to the gym twice. It is just as I remembered it - deeply dull and unpleasant. I have however been following my regime to the letter and thankfully it's not too bad. I have therefore been able to get in and out in three quarters of an hour and feel good about things. I have also lost half a pound in the last week. Impressive. I would also like to point out in light of a previous entry that although I find children less interesting than adults they are not animals and so therefore...
Just returned from badminton, and a very enjoyable night it was too. It's coming back to me, but I just wish I was tactically more aware. The things I do are all a bit hit and miss. I play well enough and win games but...I think I need a bit of coaching to move on. I'll see what I can do. Off to bed now, the gym beckons in less than 8 hours...
It happened again today. I went out and ended up in a house with four other adults and a small child. The adults lost thier ability to hold down a conversation for any longer than 15 seconds, because after that they all had to sit looking at this small child doing something absolutely wonderful with a cardboard tube. I just don't understand it because small children are just not interesting, and yet people end up just gazing at them with blissed out looks on their faces. I do try desperately to ...
Well would you believe it! It's been posted on eBay this very evening... I might run a book on how much it goes for (and make more money that way!) The result of this will be very interesting!
