The World Will Stop

So, the great freeze is here...Nan still has all the windows open. Mum loves her new car. At badminton last night I was OK, Good, Pisspoor. In that order. Off to the gym in an hour. I might be off to Aberystwyth on Friday but the weather might win. It's a long enough journey as it is without having to go slowly because of the ice. Don't like the weather getting the better of me but...we'll see - I'm monitoring the situation.
I have to say something about that git...does anyone really have any faith in Tony Blair anymore? The front of The Independent says it all to my mind : "Whitewash?". If Blair hadn't taken us to war on the back of claims which he may well have thought were founded but which clearly now were inaccurate then the BBC wouldn't have reported it and... And yet he's now all self-righteous when really it doesn't matter if he lied or not - the point is he was wrong about the central reason he gave for a war, and if he can be so spectacularly wrong about that (and arrogantly see nothing at all wrong in it) what hope is there for any of his other policies. He shot down Howard for wanting an enquiry in order to find out evidence of Blair's guilt - but that's exactly what he did in Iraq! And as for the Education Bill. Well Prescott said it all the morning before the vote : "This isn't about education it's about supporting a Labour Government..." Well, exactly. Who gives a damn about anything but saving Blair's hide? I don't like the Conservatives or the Liberals, but Blair? Prescott? Blunkett? Horrific.
On the upside of things The Independent Review headlines with : "Home to Roost? The rise and fall of man's feathered friend. A cultural history of the chicken." So there.
