Oh how I love them...

The day before yesterday I wanted to go to Amazon.com and look at a track listing. I typed in the URL but accidentally typed in www.aamazon.com. A page loaded and since then my computer keeps crashing, coming up with 'illegal operation' pop ups and all sorts. My outlet, my escape, knackered... I have now downloaded every Windows update in existence and hope that now my virus protection will run - at the moment I get halfway through and get the 'Blue Screen of Death'. Joys.

I've looked up the error log files and it seems there's a problem with my video cards clashing with something or other - but I haven't actually done anything to the computer hadware/software wise for weeks so I don't know why it's suddely doing it now. Whatever, it's a pain.

Disable System Restore, use some sort of antispyware/antivirus utility.
That works for me.
For antivirus, get AVG. The free version caught what Norton and McAfee couldn't . . . the horrible Bagle worm.
Anyways, try that.
But, if all else fails, attempt to back up data, and do a clean Windows installation.

Koolkat, this makes (at least) three different threads you've resurrected from weeks, or in this case, months gone by.

Check the date on the posts. If the original poster hasn't posted back in 18 months, he's probably not going to.

in this case, maybe the problems escalated and he's unable to.

Check Foolhardy's info. Says he/she doesn't exist.

Glad all your BITS are working though.

I hate when my BITS don't work.

It's a fair bet this thread has no current relevance what-so-ever...
